Anatole GALLOUET is a PhD Candidate in Applied Mathematics at the Institut polytechnique de Grenoble (Grenoble INP), working on a thesis entitled Problèmes inverses en optique anidolique et equations de jacobien prescrit, under the supervision of Boris THIBERT and Quentin MERIGOT. He is also affiliated to the Laboratoire Jean Kauffman.

He will present a paper on Numerical Resolution of Semi-Discrete Generated Jacobian Equations (read abstract, PDF 17.09 KB) at the EQUIPRICE Lunch Seminar series, organised by Alfred GALICHON in the framework and with funding from his ERC-CoG project EQUIPRICE (Grant agreement No.866274).

Daniel F. Garrett

Daniel F. GARRETT is Professor of Economics at the University of Essex since this Fall. Prior to joining the University of Essex, he was Professor at the Toulouse School of Economics (TSE) where he remains Associate Faculty. He is also a  Research Affiliate of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and of CESifo. Among his editorial activities, he is an Associate Editor at the International Journal of Game Theory, the Journal of the European Economic Association, and the Review of Economic Studies.

His research interests are in economic theory and applications. In 2017, he was awarded a European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grant for his 4-year project Building Economic Theories from a Dynamic Perspective (DYNMECH).

Kyle Herkenhoff

Kyle HERKENHOFF is Senior Research Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis and Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota (UNM). He is also a Visiting Scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia’s Consumer Finance Institute, a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), a Research Fellow at the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA), and member of the Markets Network of the Human Capital and Economic Opportunity (HCEO) Global Working Group.

His research fields span macroeconomics, empirical macroeconomics, consumer finance, and real estate economics. He is especially interested in the interaction between labour and consumer credit markets.

The Department of Economics of Sciences Po, the Banque de France, the Banca d'Italia, and the Einaudi Institute for Economics and Finance (EIEF), in cooperation with the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), are organising their fourth joint research conference on trends in firm financing, firm organization and firm dynamics:

New challenges facing firms in the post-Covid world

Objective

The event aims to create a forum for discussion on issues related to the recent patterns of firms' activity, the organization of production and financing decision, as well as their determinants, consequences and implications for policymaking.

The conference will feature two keynote lectures by Antoinette SCHOAR (MIT) and Ralf MARTIN (Imperial College).

Benjamin Marx

Benjamin MARX joined the Department in 2018 as Assistant Professor of Economics. He is also a Research Affiliate at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), an Affiliate at J-PAL, and a AALIMS Faculty Fellow.

His research interests are in political economy and development. His work explores issues related to institutions, accountability, and voting behavior in developing countries, with the goal of understanding how institutions and incentives shape economic and political outcomes. His recent research has focused on Indonesia, Kenya, Senegal, and Uganda.
