Sciences Po Careers: Preparing Students For Their Professional Future

Sciences Po Careers plays a central role in supporting students throughout their transition into the job market, from their first year at the Undergraduate College up to two years after graduation. Acting as a genuine bridge between academia and the professional world, Sciences Po Careers works alongside teaching staff, academic coordinators, and the wider alumni network.

With an approach that is personalised, proactive, and firmly grounded in the realities of the job market, Sciences Po Careers pursues a dual ambition:

  • To inspire students and help them envision career paths that align with their values and skills;
  • To facilitate connections with future employers across all sectors and on an international scale.

Sciences Po Careers is also a key point of contact for employers wishing to recruit Sciences Po students or recent graduates.

A dedicated team and tailored approach

The service is composed of a reception desk, an employer relations and career events team, and a team of career advisors and professional coaches specialising in guidance, recruitment, and employer relations.

Support is provided throughout the student journey: from project development in the Bachelor’s programme to job search preparation with practical advice at every stage.

Each student can benefit from:

  • Individual interviews to define professional goals, refine CVs, and prepare for interviews;
  • Group workshops (over 200 held annually) led by experts, covering practical skills such as building a professional network, salary negotiation, and showcasing experiences, offered in both French and English.

Digital resources available (GoinGlobal, CaseCoach, Brio, etc.) also address the specific needs of each profile.

Progressive support adapted to every stage

« During individual interviews, advisors tailor their support to the student’s needs, helping them better understand their aspirations and proposing job search strategies based on their level of experience. »

Director of Sciences Po Careers

Bachelor's students are encouraged to engage with their career development. The Orientation Pathway, designed specifically for them, allows students to better understand themselves, explore Sciences Po’s master’s programmes, and identify sectors or professions aligned with their aspirations. This empowers them to take charge of their own career direction.

A rich programme to connect with the professional world

Connecting students with employers is a fundamental mission of Sciences Po Careers. Throughout the year, many events enable students to gain insight into different sectors, discover diverse opportunities, and seize chances for internships, apprenticeships, and first jobs.

Key highlights include:

  • The Career Fair: an unmissable annual event bringing together over 1,500 students and nearly 100 organisations from the public and private sectors, in France and internationally (consulting, finance, industry, media, NGOs, public institutions, and more);
  • Sectoral Career Fairs, such as those dedicated to consulting or law professions, which facilitate direct exchanges with professionals;
  • The European Internships Fair in Brussels, organised in partnership with the London School of Economics and the College of Europe, focusing on opportunities within European affairs.

These events are mostly held in a hybrid format to engage students, regardless of campus or mobility location.

Fully integrated international outlook

With 50% of students coming from abroad and one third of graduates starting their careers internationally, the global dimension is central to Sciences Po Careers’ approach.

The team supports:

  • International students wishing to work in France by helping them better understand the specifics of the French job market;
  • Students planning international careers by providing them with all the necessary tools to envision and succeed globally.

Strengthening relations with Sciences Po graduates

Throughout their studies, students meet graduates who share their experiences during round tables, conferences, fairs, and workshops.

In autumn 2025, two new initiatives will be launched for recent graduates:

  • Specific workshop cycles;
  • A mentoring programme dedicated to young women graduates, in collaboration with the Women and Society professional group of Sciences Po Alumni.
