Our PhD programme trains top economists who seek to pursue university and academic careers in France or abroad, as well as careers requiring high-level doctoral training: in international organisations, think tanks, research institutions, government agencies, banks, and insurance companies.
Despite an international job market plagued (no pun intended) for the second consecutive year by COVID-19, our candidates have fared remarkably well in securing positions in top-knotch universities.

The Paris-London Public Economics conference is a two-day conference organised by faculty at the Department, the London School of Economics (LSE), University College London (UCL), the Institut des Politiques Publiques, the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS).
The programme features research on a range of issues in public economics.

On November 25th, 2020 the Department of Economics joined the Association pour le Développement de la Recherche en Économie et en Statistique (ADRES) as an affiliated research laboratory.
ADRES is a « Groupement d’Intérêt Scientifique » whose goal is to encourage and to disseminate research in the fields of theoretical economics, applied economics, econometrics and statistics. It also aims to facilitate the placement of young researchers in these fields on both national and international job markets.
