Previously, Rong Ying was Director for American Studies, Director for International Strategic Studies, Director for International Exchange, and Deputy Director for South Asian, Middle Eastern and African Studies at CIIS from 1999 to 2007. He also served in the Chinese Embassy in Tanzania in 1993-1997. Rong Ying received his Ph.D from Peking University, and was a visiting scholar at the Bush School for Government and Public Service, Texas A & M University, from April to October 2000. His major areas of interest include political and security issues in South Asia, China’s foreign relations and US foreign policy. He has co-edited two books: India’s Rise and the China-India Relations (2006) and A Bluebook on International Situation and China’s Foreign Affairs 2005/2006.
Through lectures by highly distinguished guests on pressing global issues, PSIA is offering a vibrant platform for public debate in international affairs.
