Economic Perspectives on Immigration

À propos de cet événement

Le 22 janvier 2016 de 10:15 à 19:30

What is the impact of immigration on the economy? How do economists evaluate this impact? In light of current events, the Department of Economics is pleased to be hosting a timely day-long workshop dedicated to thinking about the many dimensions in which immigration may matter and discussing potential consequences for policy-making.

In this workshop, various papers will be presented that think about how immigration affects the labor market, whether there is a link between immigration and crime, how immigrants integrate into the host society, how well the society accepts and hosts the new immigrants and many related topics. The final panel discussion will bring together academics and policy makers to bridge the experience and knowledge coming from both sides.

With Roberto Galbiati, Sciences Po ; Charles Clarke, former British Home Secretary ; Enrico Letta, Dean of PSIA-Sciences Po and former Prime Minister of Italy ; Christian Dustmann, UCL and CReAM ; Ian Preston, UCL ; Jean-Marc Robin, Director of Sciences Po Department of Economics…
