Fatoumata Diallo is a PhD student in Political Science at Sciences Po's Center for International Studies (CERI). Her research interests lie at the intersection of urban studies, public policy analysis and comparative politics. Her PhD dissertation, which is currently under completion under the supervision of Laurent Fourchard and Patrick Le Galès interrogates the diffusion and implementation of a poster child for urban best practices of the early XXIst century: Bus Rapid Transit (BRT). The dissertation is based on primary and secondary data about BRT project implementation processes in Cape Town, Lagos and Greater Paris collected from 2019 to 2022. Her work highlights the challenges of adapting and translating travelling policy models to new local contexts over two decades.
