Eugenio's primary research interest lies in the field of International Political Economy. His Ph.D. project, supervised by Hugo Meijer and provisionally titled 'Comparative Economic Statecraft,' aims to explain the circumstances under which European states can mobilize business actors to pursue economic statecraft in the context of US-China competition.

Eugenio Sánchez earned his M.A. in Political Science at the School of Research of Sciences Po (Summa Cum Laude) and his B.A. in International Studies from Charles University (Summa Cum Laude). Since 2023, he has served as the Communications Coordinator for the European Initiative for Security Studies (EISS). Eugenio is Czech and Chilean and was born and grew up in Prague.
