Ayşen Uysal has been a Professor of Political Science and Associate Researcher at Sciences Po/CERI, at CRESPPA-CSU, CETOBAC in Paris and IFEA in Istanbul. Her current work focuses on collective action, state control on the street protests, political engagement and networks of political parties in Turkey. She has published several articles in Turkish, French, English and Spanish. Uysal was fired from the civil service, and as well as the University of Dokuz Eylül in Izmir where she worked for thirteen years, following the purge of the AKP government for signing the petition for peace, called "We will not be complicit in this crime".
