Martin Everts is currently Head of Energy Economics at Axpo ‐ Switzerland’s largest utility company. Together with his team he defines the mid‐ and long‐term portfolio and is responsible for the investment process. Moreover, he carries out long‐term market and environmental analysis, assesses the impact of policy and regulatory developments and produces medium‐ and long‐term forecasts of energy supply and demand and energy prices. Before joining the energy sector, Martin was researching and teaching in the fields of international monetary macroeconomics, financial market and option pricing theory at the University of Bern, where he also completed his doctoral thesis in economics with a specialization in business cycle analysis. During his master studies of business administration at the University of St. Gallen, Martin was temporarily working in private equity, venture capital and private banking in Switzerland, Germany and the United States of America. Moreover, Martin co‐founded several start‐ups and was engaged in co‐authoring management guides for the energy sector in Switzerland and for the business environment in South Korea.
