How can fire be made of light and water ? How can you fold an electric bike ? How do you clean the air for astronauts by using plants ? The answer could be magic but it is design. And perhaps, it is not so different as some objects have the power to transform us.

This impact on our lives guides Mathieu Lehanneur's work. From the Olympic cauldron to smart control home devices, from the altar of St Hilaire's church to the shape of antibiotics, he has been exploring the relationship between humankind and the objects it creates. The results are spectacular poetic, functional and innovative pieces.
Mathieu Lehanneur won the City of Paris's "Grand Prize for Creation and the Best Design at Large award at the Design Miami / Art Basel fair. His works are now part of the MoMA in New York, the Centre Pompidou and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.

Mathieu Lehanneur defines magic as "both a dream and a science". For the first "Rendez-vous de la Création" of this season, he will be here to share his formula with you.

Moderated by Alexandre Kouchner, journalist.

#RVdelaCreation. The Cycle of Master Classes "Les Rendez-Vous de la Création" was created in 2016 by the Master’s degree in Communication, Media and Creative Industries at the Sciences Po School of Management and Impact. It is an opportunity for great names in the world of Creation (photographers, directors, chefs, architects, musicians, designers, etc.) to come and share their journeys with students, as well as their vision of Creation and Innovation.
