The World Internet Project (WIP) originated in 1999 at the UCLA Center for Communication Policy (now the USC Annenberg School Center for the Digital Future) and was founded with the NTU School of Communication Studies in Singapore and the Osservatorio Internet Italia at Bocconi University in Milan.
The WIP has now around 30 partners in countries and regions all over the world. It conducts comparative research and holds annual conferences looking at the impact of digital technologies.
The WIP is committed to sharing the results of its work with leaders in the policy, government and business communities as well as with journalists, parents, teachers and any interested citizens.
