Cross-perspectives on modern central banking

In a fast changing economic and political landscape, central banks find themselves facing new challenges. This combined Banque de France / Bank of England event will shed light on three major areas of modern central banking : (i) the trade-off between inflation control and economic growth in the face of geopolitical instability, (ii) the institutional role of central banks and the pursuit of independent monetary policy in turbulent political times, and (iii) new forms of money, whether unbacked such as Bitcoin, or backed like Stablecoins, and well as the digital pound and digital euro projects.
