In the midst of severe restrictions being placed on women and girls’ human rights, we are witnessing increasingly intensive and overlapping
This event will help to unfold recent events by looking back at likely root causes of the country’s takeover by the Taliban in August 2021, the collapse of the U.S.-backed government in place since 2001, the departure of almost all U.S. and NATO troops, and the freezing of an international aid effort that drove a large portion of the Afghan economy.
