“I challenge each of us to think of humanity”

Mas Mahmud came to France as a refugee. In June 2019, he graduated with a Master’s from the Sciences Po Paris School of International Affairs.

Mas Mahmud overcame significant challenges both before and during his academic path, and worked incredibly hard to meet the requirements expected of him. Mas also was an active contributor to co-curricular life on campus, notably through his role as Vice-President of Sciences Po Refugee Help on Campus. Mas was highly engaged in all student events and organisations related to rights of refugees (both within and beyond Sciences Po). In the fall 2018, Mas was invited as a ‘grand witness” to speak at the 'Commission nationale consultative des droits de l’homme (FR)' event at Sciences Po and, by all reports, captivated the audience with his own story.
