DEPARTMENTAL Seminar: Johannes ABELER (Oxford)

Johannes ABELER is Associate Professor at the Department of Economics and Tutorial Fellow at St Anne’s College. He is also a Research Fellow of IZA, a Fellow of CESifo and an External Fellow of CeDEx. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Review of Economic Studies and of the Oxford Economic Papers.

After studying Electrical Engineering and Industrial Engineering, he completed a PhD in Economics at the University of Bonn and then moved to the University of Nottingham. He joined Oxford in 2011 where he teaches mainly Public Economics and Behavioural Economics.

In his research, he applies insights from behavioural and experimental economics to questions in public and labour economics. His research has studied the economic effects of honesty, disappointment, fairness, complexity, and fungibility.
