How is the Spring semester at Sciences Po?
After a Fall semester marked by the "dual campus" concept, the Spring semester is a continuation of the previous one with hybrid learning and several measures to ensure a certain return to normalcy despite the health context.
On campus, face-to-face and remote courses
Since the end of the winter holidays, students have been able to return on campus and attend face-to-face classes, while respecting a 20% enrolment limit in accordance with government directives. On the Paris campus, this means that approximately 800 students are allowed in our buildings at any given time. Remote courses are ensured at 100% and many professors have set up innovative programs to make their online courses more dynamic. For the time being, exams are done remotely. As the semester progresses and government policies evolve, we hope to offer more face-to-face courses and activities.
Socializing opportunities
Students present on campus are welcome to stay all day if they wish, to attend other classes either face-to-face or remotely, study or socialize while respecting the barrier gestures. In Paris, the Boutmy amphitheater can accommodate 100 students at a time, and study rooms are available. Libraries on all campuses are open from Monday to Saturday. In Paris, the library offers an innovative booking system, allowing students to choose their ideal seat!
For lunch, many restaurants and grocery stores remain open around our campuses with take-out options. And above all, the CROUS offers every day two 1€ meals for all students, on campus or in CROUS refectories .
Cultural, sports and community activities
Numerous cultural and sports activities are offered in person and remotely, including wellness workshops: yoga, sophrology, tai chi, meditation, etc. Among students, the Ariane mentoring programme reinforces social links within the Sciences Po student community. Over 1000 students have already registered!
The abundant cultural and associative life that makes the identity of our institution is still as dynamic as ever, albeit remote: a studio installed in the Goguel room makes it possible to record numerous conferences on subjects as varied as interesting.
Health and social support
Our teams offer personalized social support adapted to the current context.
Health services have been reinforced since the beginning of the pandemic. The Health Center is available in person or remotely for all students, to ensure medical and psychological support.
Student health representatives are also in charge of organizing university prevention and health education activities. They can provide information and advice on student health issues such as sleep, addictions and nutrition. They are reachable on social networks (Facebook, Whaller and Instagram).
To fight the Covid-19 pandemic, antigenic tests are available on the Paris, Reims, Le Havre and Nancy campuses.
Students: useful contacts
- Sciences Po's Student Welfare and Support Office: contact them on each campus or join them online (Monday to Thursday 9:30 to 12:00 and 13:30 to 16:00, Friday 9:30 to 12:00)
- Health Centre: contact them to make an appointment with a doctor, a nurse or a psychologist on the different campuses.
- Covid-19 testing on campus: in Paris, appointments have to be made on Doctolib. On the other campuses, tests are offered either on campus, or in collaboration with external partners (SIUMPPS, laboratories or local pharmacies). For more campus-specific information on how to get tested, contact your campus administration.
