Update 17 April 2020: Ideas aren’t in confinement! While millions of people all over the world are having to stay at home, the cultural sector is tasked with the crucial mission of helping them all stay in touch with the outside world. Is it time to reform the way we design and share cultural projects? The MOOC “Be entrepreneurial in Cultural Industries in the digital age” returns to Coursera. #KeepLearning
The MOOC “Be entrepreneurial in Cultural Industries in the digital age”, created by the Sciences Po School of Public Affairs in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, is for all those who wish to startup a business in today’s cultural industries. Students, recent graduates, entrepreneurs or cultural professionals… Anybody can get started!
Bringing together more than 90 contributors - experts, creatives, lawyers - this MOOC, available in English and in French on Coursera, combines essential knowledge and skills for future entrepreneurs in the cultural sector.
The teaching structure centres around 8 sessions comprised of teaching and testimonial videos. These sessions break down the challenges of cultural entrepreneurship, alongside the difficulties and opportunities created by the digital transformation of the sector. It provides invaluable tools, techniques, and skills for creating and developing a cultural organism in six different domains: recorded music, film, edition, media, audiovisual, and video games.
The MOOC falls within the teaching plan of the School of Public Affairs, which trains future leaders and managers of the public and private sectors, notably in two key areas: Culture and Cultural Policy & Management.
