Marco Baroni is Head of Power Generation and Renewables Analysis in the Directorate of Global Energy Economics of the International Energy Agency. He co-authored several editions of the World Energy Outlook. He is in charge of the power and renewables team and responsible for the related analysis in the World Energy Outlook. He has also been co-responsible for scenario designing, climate analysis, gas, subsidies and energy efficiency.
Marie-Claire Aoun is the Director of the Center for Energy at IFRI (Institut Français des Relations Internationales). She began her carrier in the energy sector in 2004 as a researcher at the Center of Geopolitics of Energy and Raw Materials (CGEMP) at Paris Dauphine University. Economist at the French energy regulator (Commission de Régulation de l’Energie) between June 2008 and February 2014, she contributed to the works on the European gas markets integration within the framework of the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators.
The annual World Energy Outlook is the International Energy Agency’s flagship publication, used as a reference by both governments and the energy industry. It incorporates the latest data, advice and projections to give a comprehensive and authoritative analysis of medium- and longer-term energy trends.
The 2014 edition focuses on Africa, often considered as one of the less researched area of the energy system.
