Richard Gott worked for many years atThe Guardian in London, as a writer, foreign correspondent in Latin America and features editor. He is known for his connection with Che Guevara. His books include The Appeasers (with Martin Gilbert), Guerilla Movements in Latin America, Hugo Chávez and the Bolivarian Revolution and Cuba: A New History. Richard Gott’s new book is Britain’s Empire: Resistance, Repression, and Revolt. He is currently an associate fellow at the Institute for the Study of the Americas at the University of London.
