Mark S. MIZRUCHI is Professor of Sociology and Business Administration at the University of Michigan. His research focuses on the economic and political behavior of large American corporations as well as the methods of social network analysis. His primary current project is a study of the changing nature of the American corporate elite, from the period immediately after World War II to the present. He is also involved in a study of the globalization of American banking and a study of methods for measuring the effects of social network ties. Claire LEMERCIER is a CNRS research professor in history at Sciences Po, CSO. A specialist of economic institutions and especially of the role of justice and arbitration in relationships between firms, she is also investigating the boards of the largest French firms from the 1840s to the 2000s (with Pierre François). This research aims at putting together insights from business history, economic sociology, and the history and sociology of economic elites.

Pierre FRANCOIS is a CNRS research professor at Sciences Po, CSO and professor at the Ecole Polytechnique. An economic sociologist who has extensively studied dynamics of art worlds, he is currently conducting research on contemporary poetry since the 1960s in collaboration with Sébastien Dubois. He is also working on a historical sociology of firms and their managing directors since the beginning of the 19th century (with Claire Lemercier).
