Protecting information spaces: democracy, technology, foreign interference
About this event
12 September 2024 from 19:15 until 20:45
Jacques Chapsal Amphitheatre
27 rue Saint-Guillaume, 75007, ParisAccess to accurate information is being increasingly challenged worldwide. Polarisation, the weaponization of misinformation, the manipulation of algorithms and foreign interference are some of the threats to democracy and to citizenship. This event will unpack the challenges of threats in the information space. It will also address the manner in which technology, and in particular generative AI, can be "friends" but also "foes". The panel will draw from the recommendations issued by the Etats Généraux de l'Information, which was convened in France to protect and develop the right to information, which will be released on Thursday 12 September.
