Paris International Model United Nations (PIMUN)
About this event
From 18 May 2012 10:30 to 21 May 2012 01:59
For the first time this year, three of the most prestigious French universities – Sciences Po, Panthéon-Assas and Panthéon-Sorbonne – have decided to join forces to organize a large-scale Model United Nations (MUN) conference in Paris.
With 500 international students expected to attend the conference, PIMUN will last three days on the grounds of Sciences Po as well as the UNESCO headquarters in Paris. Delegates participating in the conference will have to simulate the role of national officials at the UN or other international organizations and defend the interests of the country they represent.
At PIMUN, young diplomats and experts-to-be will be confronted with the difficult exercise of international negotiations and will experience the complexities inherent to the formation of global policies. Split into different committees, delegates will be able to focus on specific contemporary global issues and to discuss and share their views as they try to propose solutions to some of the most complex problems facing the international community today.
