Online Job Search and Unemployment Insurance during the Great Recession

Ioana MARINESCU has broad interests in the areas of labor and public economics. Her work on social protection covers both developed and developing countries. She has recently been involved in a number of projects related to informality in developing countries. She is particularly interested in understanding matching and search in the labor market, and how matching mechanisms determine unemployment and productivity

She studied economics at the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris and holds a PhD from the London School of Economics. From 2004-2006, she visited the economics department at Harvard University and the National Bureau of Economic Research. She also holds a master’s degree in philosophy from the Sorbonne, where she specialized in moral and political philosophy.
