Future Challenges and Opportunities in Asia: Perspective from Asian Development Bank
About this event
15 April 2014 from 19:00 until 21:00
Special conference by Thierry de LONGUEMAR, Vice President (Finance and Risk Management), Asian Development Bank.
Today, Asia is in the middle of a historic transformation as evidenced by the significant increase in its per capita income. Consequently, more Asians today have improved quality of life and better access to basic necessities- food, shelter, education and livelihood. However, although this outcome is promising, it does not mean that the path ahead is easy or requires just doing the same to achieve continuous growth and sustainability. Hence, there is a need to draw attention to the longer-term implications of growth and align developmental strategies with Asia’s future challenges to effectively harp on opportunities available to attain an Asia and Pacific region free of poverty.
