The next October 7th will be held the Metropolitan day. This day was initiated by the Metropolis association in partnership with CIPPEC, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), UN-Habitat’s MetroHUB, the University of Guadalajara, Politecnico di Milano, MTPA, GIZ and FGV-Eaesp.

The world association of the major metropolises proposed to its members to organize a day for local leaders to meet up with all metropolitan peers within their territory in order to discuss pressing issues that they face as a metropolitan community and also  the way of applying the New Urban Agenda. The objective is at the same time to celebrate the anniversary of the Montréal Declaration on Metropolitan Areas (FR) of October 7th, 2015 but also to promote awareness about the importance to improve the metropolitan governance processes all over the world.

Our school contributes to this awareness through its study trips in particular: the Master in Governing The Large Metropolis so went in the metropolises of Manila in 2018 et Johannesburg in 2017, the Master of Regional and Urban Strategy in Bucharest in 2017 and Budapest (FR) in 2016 and the Urban planning programme studied Buenos Aires in 2018 and Thessalonica en 2017.

The Urban School is daily engaged to train a new generation of urban makers at metropolitan level.
