Sustainable Bioenergy: Challenges and Opportunities
Friday 21 September 2018 - 12:30 pm-2:30 pm
Introduced by Dr Manfred Hafner, PSIA faculty member
Bioenergy, which can contribute to the production of electricity, heat and transport fuels, already plays an important role in global energy supply and low-carbon scenarios rely heavily on a significant expansion of its production and use. But bioenergy is a complex topic and often controversial. The presentation will examine some of these complexities, and discuss the key actions needed to accelerate progress in this sector, according to the IEA’s recently updated Sustainable Bioenergy Roadmap.
