Le rôle des acteurs philanthropiques dans le développement des soins palliatifs

Depuis décembre 2013, en partenariat avec la Fondation de France le LIEPP mène une étude sur l’impact des acteurs philanthropiques dans le domaine des soins palliatifs.
Cette recherche, qui s’inscrit dans le cadre de l’axe « Politiques de Santé » du LIEPP, permettra d’observer et d’analyser la contribution et le rôle des acteurs philanthropiques dans l’émergence, la construction, le développement et la structuration du champ médical des soins palliatifs. Plus largement, cette réflexion s’intéressera à l’analyse de la segmentation, de la légitimation et de l’institutionnalisation du groupe professionnel des soins palliatifs au sein du système de santé. Il s'agira, enfin, d’étudier quels processus sont mis en œuvre dans l'inscription du problème des soins palliatifs et, plus globalement, de celui de la fin de vie, à l'agenda politique : cela permettra ainsi de comprendre comment et pourquoi les pouvoirs publics se sont emparés de cette question et quelles réponses ils ont apportées.
Cette recherche se base sur plusieurs entrées méthodologiques. Elle s’appuie, tout d’abord, sur une double revue de littérature axée d’une part sur les soins palliatifs et d’autre part sur la philanthropie, constituant un point de départ et un état des lieux de ce qui a déjà été fait dans ces deux domaines. Les résultats de cette étude se fonderont également sur une campagne d’entretiens qualitatifs menés auprès d’acteurs ayant joué ou jouant un rôle dans le domaine des soins palliatifs.
Cette étude se poursuivra tout au long de l’année 2014 et conduira à l’élaboration d’un rapport complet et à des publications scientifiques courant 2015.
