Competition Sports at Sciences Po: Rankings and Championships
Each semester, students at Sciences Po have the opportunity to join over 300 associations, on all 7 campuses. The Department of Student Life, with the Sports Club (Association Sportive) offers some 200 activities in over 40 sporting disciplines.
A fast pace of sporting competitions

Around fifteen competitive teams – football, volleyball, basketball, rugby, handball, badminton, ultimate frisbee, cheerleading, athletics, tennis, judo, and swimming – are based on the Paris campus. Students enrolled in competitions train once or twice a week and participate in the Paris Region (Île-de-France) championships (matches and tournaments on Thursdays). If they finish first in the region (or among the top two, depending on the sport), they qualify for the French University Championships.
For all interested students, recruitment takes place at the beginning of the academic year through the Sports Club (AS).
The French University Championships are usually organised over two or three days of competition, by the French Federation of University Sports (FFSU), bringing together the best teams at the national level. This is therefore the culmination of a year's work for each team, as they compete for a trophy that will mark a generation and adorn the trophy cabinet.
The Inter-IEP Games (JISPO): 2,000 students, 10 institutes of political studies, 3 days of sporting and artistic competition. Each year, the JISPO are organised in a different city, which brings its own personal touch. Traditional sports are represented (football, basketball, rugby, etc.) while each edition also highlights mystery sports (French pétanque and hip-hop in 2025). The points scored by each team are added up and the delegation that wins the most points collectively at the end of the weekend takes home the Amphora. In 2025, Sciences Po won the Amphora for the 17th time!
The Collégiades: 800 students from Sciences Po's 7 campuses compete in three days of sporting and artistic events. This internal Sciences Po competition follows the same principle as the JISPO, but with a stronger artistic focus. The 2025 edition in Reims will feature theatre, short films, fashion shows, and poetry, as well as football, rugby, volleyball, cheerleading, dance, and basketball. It is a keystone yearly event for Bachelor's students of the Undergraduate College who want to push themselves on the field and meet their peers from the six other campuses.

For students who do not wish to participate in competitions, a wide range of sports activities is offered each semester.
For the first time this academic year, Sciences Po has also been offering an intensive atheltic preparatory class to help students get ready for the physical fitness test of the entrance exams to prestigious police and military institutions (École nationale supérieure de la Police, École des officiers de la gendarmerie nationale, officer exams based on qualifications within one of the three branches of the armed forces, firefighter officer exams, etc.).
