Teaching Writing

Following on from Kamel Daoud, Marie Darrieussecq was Sciences Po’s next writer in residence. The author and psychoanalyst, who won the Prix Médicis for Il faut beaucoup aimer les hommes (Men, a Novel of Cinema & Desire), began teaching Sciences Po students at the beginning of the 2019-2020 academic year.

On 16 September 2019, the two writers gave a conference for the new publishing season and to mark the writer in residence handover.

The first initiative of its kind in the French university landscape, the writer in residence chair was created in 2018 to enhance our students’ creative expression and help them develop original and critical reflection. The chair falls under the responsibility of Sciences Po’s Writing and Rhetoric Centre.
