Startup Incubator: Fighting counterfeit medication
Fighting the spread of counterfeit medicines thanks to a simple mobile app: this is the goal of Sciences Po 2019 alumnus Romain Renard and Public Health student Arnaud Pourredon, founders of the startup Meditect.
Through a scanning system, the startup aims to help health practitioners recognize counterfeit medication, a bootleg market that continues to plague developing countries particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa.
More than a tool for professionals, Meditect is an essential public health initiative. The budding company joined Sciences Po’s Startup Incubator in 2019 and won the 15th edition of the “BFM Académie” contest for entrepreneurs a few months ago.

In keeping with Sciences Po’s entrepreneurial tradition, the Incubator has been supporting startups founded by students and alumni since 2008, selecting the best and most innovative projects and offering comprehensive assistance. Within Sciences Po’s Centre for Entrepreneurship, the incubator welcomes a dozen promising new startups every year.
