The Poitiers Campus At a Glance

Our Poitiers campus hosts the Latin American programme of our undergraduate degree.

Students studying on Sciences Po’s campus in Poitiers join the ranks of René Descartes and Michel Foucault by studying in this medieval city, which is home to one of the oldest universities in Europe (founded in 1431). Yet the programme hosted on this campus reaches far beyond France. Courses focus on the political, geopolitical, and economic issues of Latin America, particularly the Iberian peninsula. The 275 students of over 30 nationalities choose from courses in English, French, and Spanish. Students may also take language courses to begin or perfect Spanish and Portuguese, which serves them well during study trips to Lisbon, Seville, and Madrid. Those seeking to further expand their horizons have the opportunity to pursue a dual bachelor’s degree with University College London or BA/MA partnership programmes [FR] with Pontificia Universidade Católica (São Paulo), Universidad Torcuato di Tella (Buenos Aires), Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (Santiago de Chile). Students likewise bring a taste of Latin America to campus during the annual Arts and Politics Festival, which is full of lively debate and music. Alumni go on to pursue equally dynamic careers in the public and private sectors, in France and abroad.
