Law & Inequality
About this event
07 December 2020 from 18:00 until 20:00
Inaugural session of the Law and Economics Policy Initiative (LEPI) webinar series with guest speakers:
- Thomas Piketty, Professor of Economics, EHESS and PSE
- Katharina Pistor, Edwin B. Parker Professor of Comparative Law, Columbia Law School.
Moderated by Horatia Muir-Watt, Sciences Po Law School.
The LEPI, created this year, is an interdisciplinary initiative hosted by the Department of Economics and the Law School at Sciences Po.
The discipline of law and economics, and its focus on the emergence of laws, on judicial decision making and on how laws structure economic activity, is experiencing a rapid shift due to the rise of big data, of large web based giants and of new challenges raised by climate change and increasing inequality. Such a shift raises numerous questions.
The LEPI will be a forum and will stimulate and disseminate research in this field.
