Naomi Fagla-Medegan, GLM graduate, winner of two prestigious awards!

Naomi Fagla-Medegan, a graduate of the master Governing the Large Metropolis, has just received two awards for her association Gbobètô: the Social and Humanitarian Trophy of THE Trophées des Français de l’étranger 2021 and the 1st Terre de Femmes Prize 2021. congratulations!

Naomi created its association Gbobètô in 2018. Based in Benin, the association works to make waste a lever of territorial development. To do this, it has three missions: to make the city clean and healthy by creating inclusive and sustainable waste recovery channels; to transform waste into a resource by developing, from waste recycling, goods and services that meet the needs little or poorly met expressed by the populations; and lastly, to promote a circular economy through the creation of sustainable jobs around waste.

The Trophées des Français de l'Étranger, organized by lepetitjournal.com, highlight the amazing careers and successful international commitments of French expatriates. Naomi received the Social and Humanitarian Trophy sponsored by France Médias Monde. An awards ceremony will be held at the Quai d'Orsay in the summer 2021.

The Terre de Femmes Award, created in 2001 by the Yves Rocher Foundation, rewards women who carry out a project in favour of the environment through a non-profit organization. Thanks to this first prize, Naomi will receive a large financial endowment that will help her develop her plastic waste recovery process.
