Innovation at the heart of our master’s programs

Graduate studies at Sciences Po are hosted within seven schools, all located on our campus in Paris. They offer a wide variety of master's programmes that take place over two years, all tailored to the professional world. We also offer international dual degrees, in which students spend one year at Sciences Po and one year abroad at the partner university.

Our goal is to continue developing innovative teaching methods to give students the ability to adapt and solve complex challenges.

Seven schools to prepare students for professional life

Paris School of International Affairs

The Paris School of International Affairs offers a comprehensive education in international affairs. Graduates embark on careers in international organisations, NGOs, public administration, research institutes, etc.

Law School

The Law School educates high-calibre legal professionals with the skills to adapt and flourish in a constantly changing professional environment. Graduates have the opportunity to join the Bar or to work in business, economic regulation agencies or the judiciary.

Urban school

The Urban School prepares students and professionals for urban governance in all its forms. Graduates find employment in the public, private and non-profit sectors at the local, national and international levels.

School of Management and Impact

The School of Management and Impact (previously School of Management and Innovation) trains students for positions in consulting/auditing, banking/finance/insurance, marketing/communication, human resources, regulations and compliance, and the creative industries.

School of Journalism

The School of Journalism prepares students for careers in all sectors of the news media – written press, radio, television and the web. The programmes combine a solid foundation in the social sciences and practice-focused instruction provided by media professionals.

School of Research

The Sciences Po School of Research offers research-based Master's programmes and PhD programmes in law, economics, history, political science and sociology. A graduate education at the School of Research equips students to pursue teaching or research careers and for senior positions in international organizations, consulting firms and businesses.

School of Public Affairs

The School of Public Affairs educates public affairs professionals who understand multiple layers of governance. Graduates can pursue a wide range of careers worldwide, spanning the public and private sectors and the local to global levels.

Innovating teaching solutions

Building on a tradition of pedagogical innovation, Sciences Po continues to implement innovative learning methods. Our institution is, more than any other, the place where new ideas can be conceived and put into action. This capacity for innovation cannot be achieved without the support of our partners.

The Sustainable Development Goals Professional Certificate

Created in 2017, the SDG Certificate is an international program offering an innovative training allowing students to understand the framework and objectives of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and to contribute to their implementation. It was developed as a joint program by 5 of the 7 universities of the prestigious Global Public Policy Network (GPPN), including Columbia SIPA (New York), Graduate School of Public Policy, University of Tokyo (Tokyo), Hertie School (Berlin), LKY School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore (Singapore).

The Great Transition

The Great Transition is an experience that brings all School of Management and Impact first students into direct interaction with contemporary grand challenges and their impact for the world of business and for themselves as citizens.

Working through the compass of the Sustainable Development Goals, all students think, dream and act towards a world that would be both more sustainable and responsible.

Public Policy Incubator

Led by the School of Public Affairs and École 42, the Incubator brings together students, researchers, and public and private partners who share a belief that the digital revolution is also a political revolution. This multidisciplinary programme acts like a policy lab, combining engineering, design, technology, and social sciences to transform policy-making through a focus on citizens’ experience. It covers the complete cycle of innovation, from the creative stage (using methods such as design thinking or events such as hackathons) to completion of a functional, well-designed product (programme, application, etc.) that may lead to a startup.

Law clinic

The aim of the Law Clinic, initiated by the Sciences Po Law School, is to merge theory with practice by inviting students to work on real public interest cases, with companies, institutions or associations.

Impact Studio

Co-founded with the Sciences Po Centre for Entrepreneurship (FR), and in partnership with Accenture, the Studio is both an educational programme and a proactive mentoring initiative. Its aim is to train students in the research and development of business models incorporating impact criteria. The studio will bring together students, academics, international institutions and companies to explore sustainable business models. For students, it will also be a space for inventing and developing innovative impact-driven solutions, then trailing them in the field.
