Welcome Events to Start the New Academic Year

Students, the week before classes begin (25-30 August) is the ideal opportunity to explore your campus, discover the multitude of sporting, cultural and orientation activities available to you, and to meet the student clubs and associations who bring their energy to student life.

The Department of Student Life lets you know what's on:

Monday to Friday: visit your campus with the Bureau des Élèves

The BDE invites you to visit the Paris campus with them, in small groups. They’ll take you to see the different buildings that make up Sciences Po and visit its iconic locations, so that you’ll feel right at home from the start of the year. Sign up for a visit.

Wednesday 27 August: student associations, sports forum, and campus festival

From 2pm to 6pm, the campus associations await you at 1 place Saint-Thomas, to showcase their projects and invite you to join in a number of activities. If you’re keen to get involved in a student club or simply to find out what events and activities they offer, then don’t miss it!

At 27 rue Saint-Guillaume, you will get a chance to learn about recreational sports activities as well as the “Sport à la Carte” programme. You will also be able to meet members of the Sciences Po Sports Club (Association Sportive) and their team captains to find out more about competitive sports at Sciences Po.

From 5pm, the Bureau des Élèves steps up to invite you to the campus festival, with musical performances, and other surprises. DJ set and festivities until 9pm.

Thursday 28 August: Meet the Services and Diversity Fresco

Meet the teams from the different services at Sciences Po as well as our external partners: the CROUS (the French university body), the prefecture (residence permit), accommodation and health insurance: these organisations will be present on campus at 1 place Saint-Thomas, from 10am to 4pm, to answer your questions. Learn more.

Discover the Diversity Fresco, a group activity which enables you to understand the mechanisms at work when it comes to discrimination, and how to reduce them. From 9am to midday. Mandatory registration by 25 August. Workshop in French.

Sunday 31 August: Welcome Sports Day

The Sciences Po Sports Club (Association Sportive) is organising a Welcome Sports Day at the Stade Léo Lagrange (Paris 12th arrondissement). From 10am to 5pm, you will be able to try volleyball, basketball, football, rugby, practice relays, Zumba, and more. It’s a great opportunity to discover the Sciences Po sports community. Open to all.
