The mandatory year abroad

At the Sciences Po Undergraduate College, all students spend two years in France at one of Sciences Po’s campuses followed by a mandatory year abroad, either studying at one of our 410 partner universities or completing an internship.

The mandatory undergraduate year abroad is specific to Sciences Po and represents a cornerstone of our outward-looking education. It allows students to deepen their knowledge in the social sciences or to specialise in a particular discipline, and to reinforce their language skills. It is also a fantastic opportunity for students to broaden their minds and discover new cultures. When they come back, they often think in a different way.
