Why Talk about Geo-social Classes? Conversation between Bruno Latour & Nikolaj Schultz
About this event
10 February 2022 from 18:00 until 20:00
Presentation and discussion around their book “Mémo sur la nouvelle classe écologique”.
The importance of ecological concerns continues to grow even though the political mobilisation of ecology remains marginal. One solution could be to take up the old notion of social class but to inflect it with the geo-social dimension, which is more in line with current issues and allows one to find one’s way through the new ecological conflicts.
Nikolaj Schultz has been working for several years on geo-social classes as part of his thesis. He and Bruno Latour recently published a brief summary of the problems raised by this reintroduction of the notion of class (Mémo sur la nouvelle classe écologique, La Découverte).
