Understanding the fight against terrorism at the European and German levels

As part of the Sciences Po School of Public Affairs “Sécurité et Défense” Policy Stream Course titled “La France face aux défis de la lutte anti-terroriste”,
this conference with Bernard Cazeneuve, former Prime Minister of France and Thomas de Maizière, former Home Secretary of Germany, will offer a unique opportunity for an exchange with two European political leaders.
Bernard Cazeneuve is a lawyer and French political leader.
He successively held the position of Minister of State for European Affairs in 2012, Minister of State for the Budget in 2014, Minister of the Interior in 2015 and Prime Minister from 2016 to 2017.
Thomas de Maizière served as German Home Secretary since December 2013 as part of the third cabinet of Chancellor Angela Merkel.
He served as chief of staff of the German Chancellery and Federal Minister for Special Affairs in the First Merkel cabinet, from 2005 to 2009.
The conference will be held in English, and Q&A open to French, English and German.
