The invisible structures of the transition in Eastern Europe
About this event
23 October 2019 from 19:15 until 21:00
Why is it that post-transitional societies have never lived better, but also never felt worse?
This lecture will respond to this question by analysing the mechanisms of social change in the former socialist countries, and addressing the five taboos which were the deep roots of political transformation after 1989.
A conference with Andrey Raichev, Sociologist, Philosopher, University Professor in Eastern Europe.
Moderation by Jacques Rupnik, Research Professor at Sciences Po – Center for International Studies.
