At the dawn of the sixth mass extinction, biodiversity still seems to be absent from climate negotiations. Dr Paul Leadley, one of the main contributors of the last IPCC report and a world-renowned scientist, will explore this paradox and bring insights from his work both in science and politics.

Dr Paul Leadley is a Professor of Ecology at the University of Paris-Saclay and coordinator of a centre of excellence C-BASC: Center for Interdisciplinary Studies on Biodiversity, Agroecology, Society and Climate. Involved at the international level within UN institutions, he is one of the lead authors of the 5th report of the IPCC.

At the French national level, Dr Paul Leadley is a member of multiple scientific councils overseeing policy making.

This interactive webinar will be moderated by Dr. Sébastien Treyer, Executive Director at IDDRI, and a group of students from the class Science and Politics of the Planet (Energy, Environment and Sustainability stream of the School of Public Affairs).
