Research meets Politics: A Franco-German response to the Climate Crisis?

By 2050, Europe wants to be the first climate-neutral continent. This challenge cannot be met without innovative and transnational solutions. In this context, “Research meets Politics” provides a Franco-German platform to explore synergies between science and politics in response to the climate crisis.

Many experts will discuss scientific proposals that can address these issues, and in which way do policymakers respond to them? How will France and Germany meet these challenges?

13.30-14.30: European Green Deal: Now is the time for Franco-German initiatives

Welcome remarks: Pascal Lamy, President of the Jacques Delors Centre’s Advisory Board.

The European Green Deal aims at making the EU carbon neutral by 2050. To achieve this unparalleled ambition, joining efforts will be imperative. Which Franco-German projects and initiatives could give the European Green Deal dynamism and visibility?
