The Sciences Po Paris School of International Affairs (PSIA) is delighted to welcome Mia Amor Mottley, Prime Minister of Barbados, who will deliver the inaugural lesson to PSIA's Class of 2024.

The Honourable Mia Mottley is the 8th Prime Minister of Barbados, and the first woman to occupy this high office. An Attorney-at-Law and Queen’s Counsel, Prime Minister Mottley has been active in the political life of Barbados for almost three decades. Prime Minister Mottley has been a passionate defender of the need for action against climate change as well as for a stronger multilateralism.

The Inaugural Lesson is a long-standing tradition, whereby each new PSIA class is addressed by, and then has the chance to engage with, a renowned public figure.

Mathias Vicherat, President of Sciences Po, will introduce the inaugural lesson. Prime Minister Mottley will address and engage directly with students. Arancha González, Dean of PSIA, will exchange with the Prime Minister and moderate the discussion with students.
