About this event
01 September 2023 from 15:00 until 16:30
Émile Boutmy Amphitheatre
27 rue Saint-Guillaume, 75007, ParisUrban School is pleased and honored to welcome Ms. Ada Colau, political figure and "social activist" who served as the Mayor of Barcelona from June 2015 to June 2023. Her advocacy for the right to housing during the Spanish real estate crisis of 2018 led her to lead the new Barcelona en comú party in preparation for the 2015 municipal elections. Her election marked a renewal in Spanish politics, and she transformed the city of Barcelona by rethinking its territorial and urban development.
In her speech, she will reflect on her journey and the intricacies of multi-level governance. She will also address the fundamental issue of revitalizing housing policy and the relationships between the administration and civil society in implementing urban policies.
The event will be attended by Sergeï Guriev, Director of Education and Research at Sciences Po, and Tommaso Vitale, Dean of the Urban School.
This event will take place only in person and will be conducted in Spanish, with English translation.
