Ten years after the Paris Agreement, only one third of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) targets remain on track. Geopolitical tensions, rising debt burdens, shrinking fiscal space, and declining aid are placing unprecedented pressure on countries’ ability to finance their development priorities. This is not only a financing gap ; it is a systemic challenge

The 2026 French G7 Presidency offers a critical opportunity to advance discussions on thefuture of international development cooperation. More resilient governance frameworks are essential to ensure that public and private investment effectively supports sustainable development.

Organised by the Paris School of International Affairs (PSIA) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) this High-Level Policy Dialogue convenes senior representatives from governments, international organisations, financial institutions, and the private sector. Together, they advance collective reflection on how to strengthen the financing of sustainable development and how to restore trust in international cooperation and the effectiveness and legitimacy of multilateral governance.
