This talk will focus on the lasting significance and impact of the Nuremberg Trial and the resulting Nuremberg Principles formulated by the International Law Commission. It will explore the continued importance of the trials that took place 80 years ago and laid the foundation for modern international criminal law. Turning to the present day, contemporary developments and current challenges concerning accountability for international crimes, international justice, and the role of law in international politics will be discussed.
