Justice in the Energy Transition

About this event

29 November 2021 from 18:00 until 20:00

A conference in the framework of the webinar “Sciences and Politics of the Planet“, co-organised by the “Master en Arts Politiques” and the “Energy, Environment and Sustainability” policy stream of the School of Public Affairs.

Following the COP26 in Glasgow, the global energy transition continues to be at the forefront of climate negotiations. Equitable energy access and development through a just energy transition aims to leave no community behind in the move towards a low-carbon economy.
Dr. Youba Sokona, elected Vice President of the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in 2015, who has focused his career and research on energy, sustainable development and climate change in Africa, will present his knowledge on the questions raised by the necessity of a global and just energy transition.

He will discuss with Dr. Sébastien Treyer, Executive Director of IDDRI, Scientific advisor of the Energy, Environment and Sustainability stream at Sciences Po’s School of Public Affairs; and a group of students.
