Is philanthropy shaping global relations?

About this event

26 September 2017 from 14:30 until 16:30

Exploring how Ashinaga, Japan’s foremost NGO is leading the way of fundraising and influencing relations across Africa and Asia.

When philanthropist Yoshiomi Tamai established Ashinaga 50 years ago, he had not planned to become a global leader in fundraising and establish an organisation with offices across 4 continents. With his strenuous engagement, he has helped more than 100,000 disadvantaged students across the world.

A recipient of the Eleanor Roosevelt Val-Kill Medal Award for his exceptional contribution towards the advancement of education, Yoshiomi Tamai shares his vision and strategy on fundraising and philanthropy, with particular focus on the African continent.

Introduction by Frédéric Mion, President of Sciences Po
