Is a European Defence Possible with or without NATO? A Discussion on EU-NATO Cooperation Perspectives
About this event
23 February 2022 from 20:15 until 22:00
For its first masterclass of the Spring semester, the Sciences Po School of Public Affairs’ Security and Defence policy stream is joining forces with the Sciences Po Defence and Strategy association to offer a discussion on one of the biggest challenges facing European defence: cooperation between the EU and NATO.
Thanks to a rich panel of speakers bringing together experts of different nationalities and specialisations, this event will offer a variety of perspectives to address this sensitive issue within the European Union.
With:
- Senator Bogdan Adam Klich, former Minister of Defence of Poland (2007 – 2011)
- Marie Brethous, Researcher at the European Union Institute for Security Studies (EUISS) and specialist in transatlantic relations
- Bruno Dupré, Security and Defence Advisor at the European External Action Service (EEAS)
- Colonel Dirk Hamann, German officer at the Ministry of the Armed Forces in Paris.
Moderator: Christian Lequesne, Professor at Sciences Po.
This masterclass is mandatory for students in Master 1 of the Security and Defence policy stream at the School of Public Affairs, and open to any Sciences Po student interested in this topic.
