PSIA is delighted to host a fireside chat between Nobel laureate Joseph Stiglitz and Professor Thierry Mayer to explore the shifting landscape of global economic cooperation. With the U.S. retreating from the multilateralism it once championed, what does the future hold for international institutions like the WTO? Can multilateralism survive without a hegemon - or must it be reimagined entirely?
The conversation delves into the deeper forces behind America’s change of position, its ripple effects on global trade, and the prospects for a more inclusive economic order.
With:
- Joseph Stiglitz, Professor, Columbia University; Recipient of the 2001 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences;
- Thierry Mayer, Professor, Department of Economics, Sciences Po; Scientific advisor in CEPII, Research Fellow at CEPR (International Trade Programme)
