Amba-Series on the New Geopolitics of Higher Education and Research
About this event
24 February 2022 from 19:30 until 21:00
Sciences Po’s Center for International Studies (CERI) partners with the British Council in France and the French Embassy in the UK to organise a joint amba-series on the new geopolitics of Higher Education and Research which will be twofold: one dedicated to the Sino-American relationships and another one on the new map of European collaboration.
The first policy dialogue of this series will be dedicated to the Sino-American relations in Higher Education & Research and its consequences for other countries, especially the UK and Australia. Assuming the strategic rivalry between China and the US will shape tomorrow’s world in all sectors, it is quite clear that the global geopolitics of Higher Education & Research will be impacted.
New players are currently emerging, which could either represent an opportunity or a threat. Especially countries such as the UK and Australia, will need to readapt their strategies to keep up with their leading role in Higher Education & Research. This first conference aims at better understanding the ongoing geopolitical changes and its consequences.
Policy Dialogue 1 – Sino-American Relations in Higher Education & Research: Constraints and Opportunities for Direct Partners :
- Introduction by Anne Duncan, President of The British Council in France and Minh-Hà Pham, Scientific Counsellor at the French Embassy in the UK
- Keynote by Pr. Stéphanie Balme, Dean of the Undergraduate College of Sciences Po.
